FORUM: “CLIMATE CHANGE: EFFECTS, IMPACTS, OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR BOLIVIA”
The FRIENDS OF NATURE FOUNDATION (FAN) and the BOLIVIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE (IBCE) are the co-organizers inviting to participate in the Forum entitled “Climate Change: Effects, Impacts, Opportunities and Challenges for Bolivia”, to be held on Wednesday November 25th 2009 from 9.00 to 12.00 h in the Plaza Hotel in La Paz. This Forum is supported by WWF Bolivia, the conservation organization.
The presentations to be held by two experts from FAN during the Forum will show the importance of climate change for the planet –and particularly for Bolivia– from the point of view of the environmental and socioeconomic impacts that could result from various scenarios, besides exploring opportunities and challenges for the country regarding the structural change of the global climate regime as of the discussions to be held in the COP 15 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen this December.
FAN and IBCE consider that the Forum will not only be a platform to exchange technical information on climate change, but also to gather expressions and concerns of civil society in order to enrich the debate, for which they are also inviting representatives of public entities related to the subject.
