Con más de 100 actividades se conmemora la Hora del Planeta 2022 en ciudades y comunidades de Bolivia

Con el slogan #DemosFormaANuestroFuturo se reforzó el compromiso de cuidar la naturaleza y se convocó a la población a ser parte de acciones que se desarrollaron en ciudades y poblaciones de los nueve departamentos.

WWF cerró este 26 de marzo una agenda de más de 130 actividades que movilizaron un estimado de 22000 personas a nivel nacional, sin contar a aquellas que acompañaron las acciones a través de las redes sociales. Este año, el movimiento que activa a más de 190 países en el mundo volvió después de dos años a la presencialidad en Bolivia y mantuvo abierta la posibilidad de seguir los eventos mediante las redes sociales y plataformas de streaming.

Las actividades que se desarrollaron a la cabeza de 85 organizaciones, municipios, grupos de jóvenes, universidades y empresas, siendo la Asociación de Scouts de Bolivia uno de los principales socios y co-organizadores de la campaña, comenzaron el 20 de marzo y se desplegaron por una semana hasta finalizar este sábado.  Todo culminó con el tradicional apagado de luces, ocasión en la que las ciudades del eje troncal se enlazaron mediante transmisión en vivo.

Siembra de plantines frutales; maratones de limpieza; ferias ambientales; reforestación; campañas de reciclaje; webinars; talleres, censo y documentación de árboles endémicos y recolección de botellas, entre otras, fueron las acciones que se realizaron en ciudades capitales, ciudades intermedias y comunidades del país. Todas ellas con el principal objetivo de generar espacios de diálogo e inspirar a los distintos sectores a comprometerse con la naturaleza.

En Santa Cruz, el tradicional apagado de luces se llevó a cabo tras una caravana de bicicletas que partió desde el Cristo Redentor y llegó hasta el Boulevard del Centro Comercial Las Brisas. En Cochabamba un par de ferias y una caravana iniciaron las actividades con miras al acto de apagado de luces que se realizó en el Parque Lincoln. Por su parte, en la ciudad de La Paz, un conversatorio y música fueron el preámbulo al tradicional apagón. El acto central y algunas de estas actividades fueron transmitidas en vivo, a través de la página de WWF Bolivia https://www.facebook.com/boliviawwf.

“La Hora del Planeta nos invita a ser más consciente de nuestras acciones como personas, familias, ciudades, países que sabemos dejan una huella en el planeta. Pero ser consientes y sensibles es solo la mitad de la tarea, es clave inspirarse y asumir con convicción acciones para un futuro en el que el Planeta y la Naturaleza Prosperen juntos”, mencionó Samuel Sangüeza Pardo, Representante de WWF en Bolivia.

“Hoy la Hora del Planeta nos reúne a todos, para trabajar por nuestra madre tierra, la tierra que nos acoge y que nos hace hermanos a cada uno de nosotros. Hoy les invito a reflexionar un poco sobre qué estamos haciendo por nuestro planeta (…) Debemos darle un respiro a nuestro planeta. Para eso estamos nosotros, para que cada uno desde el lugar en el que se encuentre, la actividad que realice, aporte y podamos darle forma a nuestro futuro”, mencionó Juan Pablo Orellano, Jefe Scout Nacional de la Asociación de Scouts de Bolivia.  

La Hora del Planeta

Es un movimiento ambiental global que inspira, motiva y empodera a las personas para actuar en favor del planeta. Es una de las acciones colectivas por el medioambiente más grandes del mundo, que llega a más de 7.000 ciudades de más de 190 países. Desde el 2007, el apagado de luces de una hora aún refleja el compromiso de todos con el planeta e inspira a realizar acciones durante todo el año.

En Bolivia, con la participación de miles de personas, cada año, el movimiento crece con diversas iniciativas que generan conciencia acerca de que la naturaleza es la base fundamental de un planeta saludable y que es la solución inmediata, poderosa y rentable para la prevención de desastres climáticos, la pérdida de la biodiversidad y el surgimiento de enfermedades zoonóticas. Este 2022, más de 80 instituciones lideraron 135 actividades en todo el territorio nacional.

Cifras de la Hora del Planeta 2022

• La Hora del Planeta 2022 se celebró en 192 países.
• El hashtag #EarthHour y otros relacionados tuvieron 10.1 billones de impresiones; fueron tendencia en Google y Twitter en 35 países.
• En Bolivia, durante la semana previa y el día de a Hora del Planeta, se desarrollaron 135 actividades, organizadas por 85 socios.
• Las actividades presenciales y virtuales contaron con el apoyo de 1250 voluntarios y miembros de los distintos equipos de coordinación y movilizaron un estimado de 22.000 personas a nivel nacional.

With the slogan #DemosFormaOurFuturo (#ShapeOurFuture in English) the commitment to care for nature was reinforced and the population was called to be part of actions that were developed in cities and towns of the nine departments.

WWF closed this March 26 an agenda of more than 130 activities that mobilized an estimated 22,000 people nationwide, not counting those who followed the actions through social networks. This year, the movement that activates more than 190 countries in the world returned to presence in Bolivia after two years and kept open the possibility of following the events through social networks and streaming platforms.

The activities that were developed at the head of 85 organizations, municipalities, youth groups, universities and companies, being the Bolivian Scouts Association one of the main partners and co-organizers of the campaign, began on March 20 and were deployed for a week until the end of this Saturday. Everything culminated with the traditional lights out, an occasion in which the cities of the trunk axis were linked through live transmission.

Planting fruit trees; cleanup marathons; environmental fairs; reforestation; recycling campaigns; webinars; workshops, census and documentation of endemic trees and collection of bottles, among others, were the actions carried out in capital cities, intermediate cities and communities of the country. All of them with the main objective of generating spaces for dialogue and inspiring the different sectors to commit themselves to nature.

In Santa Cruz, the traditional lights-out took place after a caravan of bicycles that departed from Christ the Redeemer and reached the Las Brisas Shopping Center Boulevard. In Cochabamba, a couple of fairs and a caravan began activities with a view to the lights-out event that took place in Lincoln Park. For its part, in the city of La Paz, a conversation and music were the preamble to the traditional blackout. “Earth Hour invites us to be more aware of our actions as people, families, cities, countries that we know leave a mark on the planet. But being aware and sensitive is only half the task, it is key to be inspired and take actions with conviction for a future in which the Planet and Nature Prosper together”, mentioned Samuel Sangüeza Pardo, WWF Representative in Bolivia.

“Today Earth Hour brings us all together, to work for our mother earth, the land that welcomes us and that makes each one of us brothers. Today I invite you to reflect a little on what we are doing for our planet (...) We must give our planet a break. That is what we are for, so that each one, from the place where they are, the activity they carry out, contribute and we can shape our future”, said Juan Pablo Orellano, National Scout Chief of the Scout Association of Bolivia.

It´s a global environmental movement that inspires, motivates and empowers people to act for the planet. It is one of the largest collective actions for the environment in the world, reaching more than 7.000 cities in more than 190 countries. Since 2007, the one-hour lights out still reflects everyone's commitment to the planet and inspires action throughout the year.

In Bolivia, with the participation of thousands of people, each year, the movement grows with various initiatives that raise awareness that nature is the fundamental basis of a healthy planet and that it is the immediate, powerful and profitable solution for the prevention of climatic disasters, the loss of biodiversity and the emergence of zoonotic diseases.
