Knowledge Management, Communication and Engagement Specialist / Work base: Santa Cruz

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, is seeking a Knowledge Management, Communication and Engagement Specialist for our office in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Context of the call
 
Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA is a climate action program implemented by World Wildlife Fund (WWF), SouthSouthNorth (SSN), Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA), Slum Dwellers International (SDI), Avina Foundation (AVINA) and Hivos, in strategic collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The VCA program aims to ensure that by 2025, civil society and underrepresented groups have a more participatory role as creators, facilitators, and advocates of innovative and inclusive climate solutions. Inclusion of these groups is crucial for an effective and lasting climate response, as the climate crisis is a social challenge that contains ethical and human rights aspects that occur alongside inequalities tied to gender, socioeconomic class, race, ethnicity, nationality, physical ability, sexual orientation, and age.
 
The program's overall approach is to work with civil society to build broad social support for locally designed climate solutions through an inclusive, rights-based approach.
 
The program's strategic interventions focus on the following three pillars:

1) Mutual capacity building for the joint creation of alternative climate solutions at scale.
2) Agenda setting and mobilization for climate action through expanded narratives (storytelling, data, networks).
3) Advocacy in decision-making spaces so that policies and financial flows respond to local climate needs.
 
In this context, SSN, WWF and AVINA, through the VCA Alliance in Bolivia, seek to incorporate a Knowledge Management, Communication and Engagement Specialist to support the VCA program partners and their local allies.
 
Main responsibilities
 
a) Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation the activities and results of the VCA program in Bolivia (Outcome Harvesting methodology).
b) Systematize the processes, results, and impacts of the VCA program in Bolivia.
c) Manage the process of knowledge generation and support engagement within the VCA program in Bolivia.
d) Manage and take advantage of the collective knowledge generated in VCA to promote climate action mobilization processes at the national, regional, and global levels.
e)  Follow up communication between the regional VCA team in Bolivia and the global VCA Alliance.
f) Contribute to the development of strategic communication products for just climate action.
g) Lead the development of communication (traditional and digital) and advocacy capacities among local VCA partners in Bolivia, including tools for development of storytelling and mapping of local and regional media ecosystems.
 
Important Definitions
 

Knowledge management: The explicit and systematic management of knowledge assets for the purpose of creating value and meeting tactical and strategic requirements. It consists of processes, systems, initiatives and strategies that enable the identification, creation, storage, sharing and utilization of vital individual and collective knowledge resources; whether tacit or explicit.
 
Knowledge brokering: Developing relationships and networks with and among knowledge producers and users to facilitate knowledge sharing and develop evidence-based decision-making capacity. Design, engage and/or influence processes for the purpose of knowledge capture and/or knowledge co-production.
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 
The Alliance encourages applications from professionals with the following capabilities:
 
a) Social and/or environmental science background, with demonstrable experience in communications, knowledge management and/or monitoring and evaluation. 
b)  Ability to identify key aspects of documents and summarize them.
c) Ability to relate and interact with different stakeholder groups.
d) At least 5 years of work experience in:
• Monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs
•  Knowledge management
• Communications and storytelling
• Systematization of conservation project results.
 
e) Experience with inclusive conservation, gender, youth, governance will be valued
f) High level of oral and written English (essential).
g) Good office automation skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
h) Excellent ability to work in a team.
i) Availability to travel to rural areas into the country and abroad.
