(English below)

WWF-Bolivia launches its environmental education platform
- The site is a space where educators will find information, documents, didactic tools, among others, to facilitate environmental education processes.
- The Environmental Education Centers - located in La Paz, Tarija, Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Puerto Quijarro - have information spaces within the site.
In the following months, the website will also offer interactive activities for children, adolescents and young people, in order to raise awareness about our impact on the planet and the need to live in harmony with nature.
Santa Cruz, December 2, 2020.- WWF-Bolivia officially launched the website: educacion.wwfbolivia.org, a platform that makes available to educators, parents, students and the general public, a variety of educational resources with environmental themes to be used in the classroom and in non-formal education processes. In addition, the portal seeks to bring users closer to the Environmental Education Centers, implemented by the Municipal Governments in the cities of La Paz, Tarija, Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Puerto Quijarro and to the urban protected areas, supported by WWF, located in the same cities.
"Through WWF-Bolivia's environmental education website, it is expected that the information, methodology, resources, among others, developed during years of work from the sustainable societies program, will be accessible to a larger group of stakeholders and can be applied and implemented, reaching more children and youth," mentioned Gonzalo Calderón de la Barca, coordinator of WWF-Bolivia's Sustainable Societies Program.
Since 2011, WWF-Bolivia, with the support of the Swedish Embassy in Bolivia, the Sarastro Foundation and WWF-Germany, has been implementing the Sustainable Societies program, with the goal that the population of the main urban areas and other cities of the Amazon and Cerrado-Pantanal improve their appreciation of the environment, develop actions to reduce the ecological footprint and be more responsible with nature.
The environmental education website has key data and the calendar of activities of the Environmental Education Centers supported by the project, including the Santa Cruz Municipal Environmental Education Center, Espacio Interactivo Memoria y Futuro - Pipiripi, Pantanal Environmental Education Center, Bientefué Municipal Environmental Education Center and the CIBIOMA Environmental Education Center. This is so that users can approach each space, obtain more information and participate in the activities offered to the public.
Another important element of the program, which is part of this online tool, are the actions to support the conservation and valorization of urban protected areas, including Curichi La Madre in Santa Cruz and Ibare Mamoré in Trinidad. "Urban protected areas, in addition to being priority natural spaces for conservation in cities, also give us the opportunity to create spaces for environmental education, allowing people to have direct contact with nature," added the project coordinator.
The educational platform also has a repository of recreational resources for teachers, students and parents. From suggestions of activities for classroom planning, to games to implement on the subject of the environment, biodiversity, alternative energies, among others.
The environmental education page is already available to the public and in the following months will have interactive spaces - to learn more about Ramsar sites and Forest Fires - and challenges for teenagers and young people.
